the speakeasy at yeah write #76
Some points to consider if you are new to the speakeasy, or a review for regulars.
The speakeasy is the non-competitive sister blog to the yeah write challenge grid. Each is a weekly collection of very best posts from bloggers and writers.
We get our best hooch from yeah write challenge grid, but the speakeasy serves it up with a little rebellion and tonic. For various reasons, the challenge grid might not work for you from week-to-week. Perhaps you don’t have time to read and thoughtfully comment on each post. You may not have an interest in competitive part of the program. or you have video, photography, poem or prose that doesn’t meet the criteria of the challenge grid. This is the place for you, at least for this week.
You can submit the same entry to both grids. In fact, if you are uninspired but really want to write something for the speakeasy grid, feel free to use the current prompts available at the challenge grid. Remember that September is family-free month at yeah write. The speakeasy doesn’t mind mention of relations, but it’s a kid-free month, here.
Challenge grid submissions should be written specifically for that grid and should not be dated before the badges are ready for the current grid. You cannot submit more than one post to the challenge grid or to the speakeasy, even if the posts are from two separate blogs. However, you can submit one post to the speakeasy and entirely different one to the challenge grid. Use this information to get the most bang for your yeah write buck.
The speakeasy at yeah write #76 is open! Badges are in the sidebar. Let’s get ready to rumble.
This is a good looking WordPress theme. Very clean and easy to understand and navigate. I may write something for the speakeasy one day.
First time hanging out at the Speak Easy! Very exciting. Couple of questions: what is “spotlighted at the speak easy”? And does Comment Karma still count over in this neck of the woods? xo!
On Sundays, the speakeasy spolights posts from the previous week. You get a fancy badge and the criteria is my whimsy.
I’m glad you asked about comments, because I like having a reason to repeat this:
There is no obligation for anyone to read any of the posts on this grid
The only thing that will compel someone to view and comment on a submission is an entertaining, meaningful post.
Can someone let me know if my shit made it up on the challenge grid and speak easy? I can write; I can’t really navigate computers very well. Thanks y’all!
Oy vey. I did it. Jesus, can I NOT help myself? Pathetic. I realize I DID, in the end feature my child in my post, which was generally about guard security. Will you forgive oh speakeasy? I’ll swap you a completely non-child post in October, deal?
